Find items with Semantic and Advanced Search
Semantic search helps you quickly find items by searching for related words. Unlike typical searches, it locates items with meanings similar to your query rather than exact text matches. To activate global search, click the magnifying glass icon available at the top of all Codebeamer views. For even faster access, use the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut from anywhere:

Clicking this icon will display a search bar over your current page, allowing you to enter a text query and press enter to find items, all without navigating away from your current page.
Additionally, next to this search bar, there is a dropdown menu where you can specify a project to search in, or just keep the default selection of searching through all projects.
The results will appear below the search bar, ensuring you stay on track with your current task.

Once the results load, you have several navigation options. Quickly press Enter to view the issue for the first result. Use the arrow keys to navigate through the items, or click on any result to open it. For more options, right-click or press Alt + Enter. This opens a menu where you can choose to open the result in document view or a separate tab, analyze the item, or view its downstream or upstream items.

When opting to view downstream or upstream items, a full-screen display will present a graphical representation of the relationship between the items. Within this view, right-click on any related item to access its downstream or upstream items, enabling seamless navigation through related items. Additionally, you can open any related item in a new tab in either issue view or document view. To close out of the downstream or upstream viewer, click on any empty space.

Advanced Search
The Advanced Search UI can be used to specify more filters to further refine the results of a Semantic Search. The Advanced Search is accessible globally by pressing ALT+SHIFT+SPACE, or from a Semantic Search bar by pressing the funnel icon.

When the Advanced Search is invoked from an existing Semantic Search, the previous results transfer over to the Advanced Search window. A relevance score is displayed in each item card.

Unlike the regular Semantic Search, Advanced Search windows can be moved and resized, and multiple instances can be opened at a time.

The Advanced Search window can also be minimized. While in this state, a preview will show at the bottom, including the query that was used for the search. The preview is visible when the user hovers the mouse cursor over the bottom of the webpage.

In an Advanced Search window, a filter bar can be used to add one or multiple filters to refine the search. The currently supported filters are:
- Project, Project name
- Tracker, Tracker name
- Working set, Working set name
- Created by, Created at
- Modified by, Modified at
- Owner
- Description
- Summary
Groups can also be specified. These combine multiple filters with "AND" or "OR" clauses.
With an Advanced Search window focused, new filters can be added via CMD/CTRL+= and new groups can be added via CMD/CTRL + SHIFT+= or by clicking the +Add Rule and =+ Add Group buttons. Resources will also display the search ranking in the Advanced Search window.

Easier navigation to resources, available only in Advanced Search:
- Double-clicking a resource will navigate to it
- The resource menus available by right-clicking will include options to open the resource or its tracker in the current tab.
- Pressing Space with a selected resource will cause the preview window to open for it.
- Pressing Enter with a selected resource will navigate to that resource.
- Specifying any filter will cause a "Run Search" button below the filter bar to appear, to clarify that filters aren't applied live, and it works the same as the button in the search bar.
Clicking on items in Advanced Search will select them, and the following action will be available in the toolbar for the selected resources:
- Preview: Opens the preview of the resource
- Open: Opens the resource (in the same tab for Advanced Search), a new tab for other resource browsers.
- Analyze: Opens the Analysis for the resource.
